Looking For a Great Night Out? Try the Music Factory!
What is the Music Factory?
The music factory is home to a clever mix of restaurants, music venues, and bars all within walking distance of one another with one fantastic amenity: free parking! To cope with the explosion of the area, a new parking deck has recently been constructed to cope with the hundreds, if not thousands, of people flocking to the music factory on a nightly basis. Some of the primary places to visit when visiting are the Fillmore ( a great indoor concert venue), VGBG ( an awesome bar with huge Jenga, corn hole, ping pong, and sand court volleyball!), and Eight (a new Sushi bar). The fun doesn't stop there though as the entire area is home to several other great bars and restaurants! As the name implies, the Music Factory does fail when it comes to live music either, as you can find live performances happening virtually every night of the week.
What to do when visiting the Music Factory?
If you hadn't yet eaten before arriving at the Music Factory, Eight Sushi Kitchen is a must visit. If arriving in the after dinner hours you will want to be conscious of the nightmare that can be navigating Music Factory Blvd (the main road in and out) as Uber drivers and Taxis are constantly blocking the road, making getting in and out a hassle occasionally. While getting in can be a problem at times, parking is not, as it is extremely abundant throughout the area and is all free with the exception of some of the VIP lots which are convenient but will cost around $20. While there are many great live performances at VGBG and Label, you will want to buy a ticket in advance if looking to attend a concert at either the Fillmore or the outdoor Amphitheater as these shows will usually sell out for bigger performances
Other Great Things to Know:
Opened in 2009, the Music Factory has quickly risen become the best place for music lovers to flock to on almost every night of the week. The artists featured at the Amphitheater and The Fillmore range all the way from rap artists such as Snoop Dog, to reggae groups like Slightly Stupid. This wide variety of musical genres ensure that everyone can find someone they enjoy listening to. While the Amphitheater primary months of operation are in the summer when weather is good, The Fillmore is fully indoors and is open year round, hosting a variety of different concerts and other events.
