Carolina on my Mind
Have you recently moved to NC or are planning on moving here soon? Well, here are some tips and heads up you might want to know before moving to the Tarheel State. Explore homes for sale in North Carolina now.
1. Before moving here, make
sure you know what college team to cheer for. Light blue or dark blue, that’s the
real question. People in North Carolina take this rivalry very seriously and
you can easily ruin a friendship by what color you decide to wear.
2. If you don’t like hockey, learn to like it. The Carolina Hurricanes will be your new favorite team to root for. The games are fun and exciting and the tickets aren’t that expensive if you want to take the family to a game.
3. The only way to eat a hotdog is with chili, coleslaw, mustard and onions. In some restaurants, don’t even think about asking to put ketchup on your hotdog. They will look at you like you are crazy!
4. You should definitely make an effort to attend the state fair that happens in the capitol city, Raleigh, every year. Family and friends will love going on rides and eating all the deep fried food you could ever imagine.
5. BBQ is all you
need to survive in North Carolina. There’s some of the best BBQ here and also
some of the best breweries in the country and you can find them all over the
state!
6. You will find the best of both worlds, the mountains and the beach. North Carolina is lucky to have beautiful mountain ranges to the west and spectacular beaches to the east. The Blue Ridge Parkway will give you unforgettable views and the Outer Banks offers scenic views. Regardless of which way you decide to drive, you are sure to have an amazing time.
7. Your drink of choice will be a Large Cheerwine or a Large Sweet Tea. There isn’t really any other option. Lucky for you, Cheerwine originated in Salisbury, NC and most restaurants have it on the menu. Get use to sweet tea because if you marry someone from NC, your mother-in-law will request it when they come to your house.
8. Your new favorite to go place for food is Cookout. Its cheap and the food is good! You can get a lot of food for just $5 and don’t forget to add a Cheerwine with your order!
We hope this list makes your transition to NC a little easier! Currently many homes for sale in North Carolina are available. Enjoy the beauty of North Carolina; I’m sure you will fall in love like everyone else has!
