First in Flight
Have you ever dreamed of flying a plane or helicopter? When you were younger did you want to be a pilot? Well, Carolina Aviation Museum is the place for you! Founded in 1992, this museum will take you on a flight back to the past. The main focus of the museum is on the planes and helicopters, but another important thing you will learn is about the people that flew these aircraft's. Throughout your journey, you will be able to read and hear the real stories of these pilots and their amazing experiences with these flying vehicles.
Inside of the museum, there are different exhibits that will spark your interests! The Commercial Aviation portion is all about the big airplanes you would fly out of any big airport. It talks about the competitiveness between Boeing and Douglas, the two most popular airline builders. As well as, have the opportunity to see these amazing planes in person in a way you wouldn't if you were flying in one! Another exhibit that is interesting is the Military Aviation portion. This exhibit gets you up close and personal with the technology the military used and still currently uses today! You will be able to see different types of military vessels only a few feet from you, while learning about the different types of planes and understand their purpose in the military.
