Charlotte has become a popular place for many different sporting events and one of the biggest teams that everyone has heard of is the Carolina Panthers. The Panthers made their way to the Super bowl in 2015 with a nearly perfect record. The big talk of the town is Quarterback, Cam Newton who made the “dab” famous. He was criticized for “showing off” after scoring but the fans loved it! Cam even has his own show on Nickelodeon this summer! Last season, the Panthers gained thousands of new fans. They started out as the underdogs with a few of their great players hurt but they pushed through and only lost one game during their regular season. There were a few games that kept people on the edge of their seats but in the end they had a successful year.
The Super bowl was definitely a difficult game for the Panthers and they were highly criticized by many people inside and outside of the football community. Some people say that they were sore losers, others say that they were team sports, but even after this loss, they still had an amazing fan base. These fans would stand out in a hurricane or snowstorm to root for this team. They have become more than just fans. They have built themselves a community and being in Charlotte you can be apart of this amazing community!
